What's next after Baptism?
Do you have questions about how to get to and through the baptism process and what comes after it’s all over? To help you in your goal, we have provided the answered to a few questions commonly asked by those wishing to be baptized.
What then does it mean?
Baptism is a way of showing others that you have entered into a relationship with Jesus Christ. It symbolizes what took place in your heart at the time of salvation. Baptism illustrates three things that happen to the believer:
1) It illustrates the death and resurrection of Jesus
By going under the water baptism communicates your being dead to your old life, then rising again to new life.
“Christ died for our sins… He was buried… and He rose again.” (1 Corinthians 15:3-4) “For when you were baptized, you were buried with Christ, and in baptism you were also raised with Christ.” (Colossians. 2:12)
2) It illustrates our new life as a Christian
“When someone becomes a Christian he becomes a brand new person inside. The old life has passed away and a new life has begun!” (2 Corinthians. 5:17) “By our baptism then, we were buried with Him and shared His death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead… so also we may live a new life!” (Romans. 6:4)
3) It shows that you have made a decision to follow Christ.
Someone once said, “Baptism doesn’t make you a Christ-follower. It shows that you already made that decision.” So we see, Baptism isn’t the thing that saves you. The Bible says, only your faith in Christ can do that. Instead, water Baptism is like a wedding ring – it’s the outward symbol of the commitment you make in your heart.
“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith… it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast.” (Ephesians 2:8, 9)

What will happen on the day of baptism?
On Baptism day, you will check in at the welcome center where our team will be waiting to serve you. Intercessors will be on hand to pray with you. We will have morning worship service. After which, there will be a brief explanation of the meaning of baptism. You will wait for your turn to be baptized. The Pastor will introduce you, briefly lower you under the water and raise you up. You may then exit the pool and watch the others. We encourage you to invite all your relatives and friends to attend your baptism.
